I posted this on the Synology forum as well.
I feel like I've tried everything...
I have a brand new 413, which is working great for other purposes, but one of my hopes was to have my Squeezeboxes no longer require a separate computer on to be happy. Here's what I've done:
1. Installed the package from the Package Center. Change the IP address to 10.0.1.6:9001 so that I can test it (my current old Dell PC is running LMS on 9000 - different IP).
2. Changed firewall settings on my router as well as on the DS413 to allow the ports.
3. Restarted router and DS.
All the music is on the server. When I try to play songs on my Squeezebox from the new source, often it will start, but then just disappear. Sometimes the song will keep playing even with the server gone. Sometimes I can't access LMS at all either from a web browser or Squeezebox. When I can access it, it is incredibly slow.
I am very frustrated at this point. Anybody with a successful installation have any tips?
Thanks,
SL
