Has anyone successfully set up a Flirc IR dongle with a RPi-based player?
I built "Squeezebox replacement" a while ago with a RPi3/7" screen/HifiBerry Digi+/PiCorePlayer. When it came to IR remote support, I saw the lirc thread in this sub-forum but it looked a little beyond my comfort zone. Then I came across the Flirc (mentioned somewhere on this forum - maybe even that same thread?), and it looked as if it would be a lot simpler.
In fact was pretty easy to get it almost fully working but there is an outstanding annoyance in that I couldn't get the FF/scan track functionality to work. This is where you hold the FWD button down while playing a track and it scans through the track. (Similarly for skipping through listen again radio programmes in the BBC player.) The Flirc is supposed to support long key presses but I just couldn't seem to get it to recognise this.
Just wondered if anyone else had tried this and had more luck...?
