Need recommendation to replace dead classic 3

One of my classic 3 devices has died. I would prefer not to buy used Logitech slimdevices product given the prices for them and the uncertainty of their longevity. With that I am looking to start introducing other hardware alternative that will work with my current squeezebox eco system.

Any suggestions? I could with direction build something but also wondering about any built out kits?
