I have used Squeezebox for many years but now just bought a Synology DS214PLAY - trying to figure out the best setup.
I have a Win7 PC with softsqueeze and three SB3's.
I am still somewhat of a Newbie though as you will see below... :-).
I have used my LMS on my PC, playing music with Softsqueeze and the SB3 in other room, music on PC and on external harddisc.
I have now downloaded the LMS on my NAS through their interface and that is working.
I now added on my PC/LMS in the Settings/Network the NAS address 192.168.x.xxx and the 9000 port.
(When I look in the NAS interface it says that the port 9002 is used, maybe this is OK?)
When I change Music Source in the LMS on my PC it changes over to the LMS with 192.168 etc address and I can play fine on my SB.
But Softsqueeze is gone, can't find that.
Questions:
- is this the best way to setup my system? I have music files mainly on NAS but also some locally on my PC.
- How do I get Softsqueeze to work with the NAS LMS? Is Softsqueeze the choice for me?
Thanks in advance!
